The Hilo Phone Measurements feature displays blood pressure values only up to 180 mmHg for both systolic and diastolic readings. If your blood pressure exceeds this limit, the Hilo Phone Measurement result will not be shown in the Hilo App.
In such cases, it is important to consult a qualified healthcare provider for a full clinical evaluation.
Please note that Hilo Phone Measurements functionality is not designed to detect hypertensive crises.
If your camera-based readings seem inconsistent with how you feel or differ from what you expect, we strongly recommend confirming your blood pressure using a clinically validated cuff-based monitor.
For readings above 140 mmHg systolic, it is recommended to double-check with a cuff-based device.
For readings above 180 mmHg systolic and diastolic, the Hilo App will not display a result at all (Refer to FAQ: What can i do to get a better signal?) in such cases, use a cuff-based monitor for measurement and consult a healthcare professional.
If you are using the Hilo Blood Pressure Monitor—which combines the Hilo Band and Hilo Cuff—you can easily take calibrated, cuff-based measurements using the Hilo Cuff, in accordance with medical device standards.
As always, interpretation of results and next steps should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.
The Hilo products are not diagnostic tools. Do not rely on them to interpret or treat any condition. Always speak to your doctor about your results.
